Established by professional dancers Simona Zaino and Hernan Catvin in 2004, Compadrito Tango was born in Ireland with the intent of offering people the opportunity to learn and dance Argentine Tango through a variety of event such as classes, milongas, workshops, festivals and more. We collaborate with a group of international artists -all sharing the same passion for Tango- to bring you the best of Tango dance and music.

While offering you the authentic Argentine Tango experience, we intend to dispel the belief that Tango’s sensual and elegant movements can only be achieved by professional dancers. But above all, we intend to bring Tango off the stage and make it once again what it was in its origins: a social dance for all, in the real Buenos Aires spirit!

Classes

Hernan and Simona currently teach in Ireland, Italy and New Zealand, the US.

Performances

Since they started Compadrito Tango in 2004, Simona and Hernan have performed at numerous dance and music events around Ireland such as  Dublin Fringe Festival, Oxegen International Music Festival, with Camille O’Sullivan  at the Olympia Theatre, with Fionnula Hunt at the Solstice Arts Centre and the National Concert Hall, at the Ballina Arts Festival, the Rathmines Arts Festival. .They have also appeared as dancers and choreographers in the short film "Tango in D minor" by Maurizio Usai.
