Taster Tango
class for Absolute Beginners with teachers Hernan Catvin and Simona Zaino: open
to all those who wish to get a taste of Tango. The class also includes a brief
presentation on the origins and history of Tango dancing. (Please arrive 10
minutes before start to sign in).
Thursday
20 October - Presented by 'Vendimia'
“El Cine” (Argentinian Film Screening and Milonga)

This
documentary was produced in Buenos Aires by Argentinian directors Sandro
Nunziatta and Carlos Pico.

finger food) will be served after the screening

Milonga (Tango
Social night) – with the best of Tango music played by DJ Costa. Irish
Tangueros will also have the opportunity to meet and talk to our guest teacher
Pablo Veron, here at his first visit in Ireland. Scenes from the film ‘The Tango Lesson” (starring Pablo Veron) will be
projected during the milonga.

-“Gauchos y Arrabaleras” (Traditional Argentinian Evening-
Cabaret)

Ambassador
Marcelo Huergo opens this eventful evening during which guest artists from
Argentina and resident artists perform. The common theme of their performances
is the diversity of Argentinian culture: from the folk tradition of the pampas
(argentinian prairies) to the decadent and picturesque images of the arrabales
(Buenos Aires’s suburbs).
The various
cabaret acts alternate to ‘milonga moments’ throughout the evening. Music by DJ
Costa.

Special guests Ruth De Vicenzo and Carlos Esquena (Voice &
Guitar)- The Argentinian Tango duet - one of the most acclaimed in Buenos
Aires- presents their outstanding 1930s repertoire

An exciting Tango evening for music and dance lovers. Highlights of the
night are:

Tango Concert with ‘Quinteto Escolaso’ –
our guest Orchestra from Argentina plays a selection of Tangos, from the vieja
guardia to Astor Piazzolla. People are invited to dance.

Tango show with dancers Hernan and Simona
v
Contemporary Dance – solo performance by Mariam Ribon (Spain)
v
Milonga (Tango Social) till late – music by DJ Costa
v
Works from Argentinian painter Lara Rojas will be on display in the main
hall.
