Note: there will be an Stretch/Relaxation session on Saturday 14th before the workshops begin.

 Stretch your body and focus your mind to get the most out of the tango workshops!! Suitable for all. The session is FREE of charge!

MILONGAS AND CULTURAL EVENTS

 

 

THURSDAY 12 August        Milonga...Al Fresco!           Free of charge  

Venue: sheltered bandstand at St Stephen's Green park (Harcourt Street side), Dublin 2
Time: 5.30pm-8.30pm

Price: Free of Charge

Join us for the opening milonga of the Festival in the splendid scenery of Stephen's Green park.
Music by DJ Johan. Tango performance with dancers Hernan and Simona. We will be there rain or shine :)

Afterwards, we continue dancing in The Globe Pub (RiRa) from 9pm. Entrance is €5.

 

 

FRIDAY 13 August       Argentine Cultural Evening  (Spanish and Tango Lessons for Absolute Beginners)   €10

Venue: The Globe Pub, South Great George street, Dublin 2
Time: 7pm-9.30pm
Mind you! ..this is no standard Spanish lesson! In a funny comedy act, Profesor Gatobin will introduce participants to Buenos Aires Spanish, taking inspiration from famous tango songs.  A Tango class for absolute beginners will follow to give participants a taste of this sensual and passionate dance.
Complimentary Argentine snacks will be served after the class.

SATURDAY 14 August   Corazoneando - Milonga & Show  €30

 Venue: Garda Club, 8 Harrington Street, Dublin 8

 Time: 8.30pm-1.30am. (Doors open 8pm)

The Festival Grand Milonga! One of the most "atmospheric, friendly and multicultural" festival milongas in Europe according to our visiting tangueros.

The evening will open with a soulful performance by tango singer Javier Criado accompanied by skillful guitarist Arash.

Then dance until you drop with the special selection of the very best tango tunes of all times played by DJ Johan! He will caress your ears and tease your feet! And of course, be prepared for the breathtaking exhibition by Rodrigo and Agustina. 

Note: ..A sweet welcome gift will be presented to all tangueros at the door : )

 

 

SUNDAY 15 August      Tango Cabaret with singer Norma Santillo  €20

Venue: Odessa Club & Restaurant, 13 Dame Court, Dublin 2

Time: 7.30-9.30pm (lounge open from 6.30pm)
Internationally renowned tango singer Norma Beatriz Santillo will be in Ireland for the first time as part of her summer tour!
Norma was born in Buenos Aires and she is currently living in Rome. Niece of art to her uncle who was first violin in the Maestro De Angelis Orchestra for 30 years, she  has listened and sung tango since she was a child. Tango dancer Osvaldo Zotto danced to her singing at a concert in 2008.
Through her warm and sensual voice, Norma will take us on a magical journey that spans through the various ages of tango music. For this special evening, she will be accompanied by virtuoso guitarist Lucas Nuñez.  Info: www.myspace.com/normabsantillo
