Venue: The Globe/RiRa, South Great George
street, Dublin 2
Time: 9pm-10.30pm
Entrance fee: €12 (includes Spanish language class after the play)
An evening of discovery of Argentine culture and
language. A treat for the lovers
of all things South American..
A Tango play ..a comic journey of sultry
romance and high drama.
A novelist is close to despair.
Her fiery new heroine refuses to conform to the plot. Fuelled by her intense passion for adventure,
she escapes the boundaries of the manuscript and sets off to live her dream of
dancing tango in the smoky salons of Buenos Aires.
The Suitcase Milonguera will plunge you into
the torrid underworld of tango. http://thesuitcasemilonguera.blogspot.com/
The play is followed by a Spanish
class. But mind you ..with teachers like Hernan and Loly, this will not be
your ordinary language class.. plenty of fun and
singing!
(Complimentary Argentine brochetas will be
served at the event)
SUNDAY 21st AUGUST -Tango
Extremo meets PIAZZOLLA

Back in Ireland after their first visit in 2009, Quinteto
Tango Extremo will take us on an exciting journey to
discover the music of legendary Argentinean composer and bandoneonist
Astor Piazzolla, the father of the ‘Tango Nuevo’
genre. A dramatic and eclectic fusion of traditional tango with classical music
jazz and folk ..right at the edge of tango.
Quinteto Tango Extremo have
mesmerized audiences all around the world and are the only non-Argentinian
orchestra that was invited to play at the prestigious Buenos Aires Tango
Festival.
